City of Water Day with Gowanus Canal Conservancy and the Gowanus Dredgers

Visit the Gowanus Dredgers Boathouse (165 2nd St) any time between 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM on July 13th for City of Water Day 2024. Take part in as many activities as you would like, with something for everyone! See the full schedule for the day here.

  • Activities for all ages include: Water Quality testing with the Gowanus Dredgers, scheduled lectures, performances, demonstrations with the Gowanus Dredgers, and Mussel Beach activity stations (crafts, science, and exploration) with GCC.
  • This event is free for all to attend.
  • Prior registration encouraged but not required. Register here.

City of Water Day activities are supported by the Hudson River Foundation, the New York-New Jersey Harbor & Estuary Program and the Waterfront Alliance.

Accessibility notes: There is an accessible entry into the boathouse. There is a single, large, step into/out of the restroom. We suggest packing a water as there are no filling stations. There is very limited street parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood, the closest train is the F/G at Carroll Street.
