Phlox paniculata – garden phlox


Garden phlox is a staple of the perennial border, it mixes well with other perennials and provides long summer bloom. It is also very attractive to hummingbirds.

Garden phlox, is native from New York to Iowa south to Georgia, Mississippi and Arkansas. It is an upright perennial that grows in clumps to 2-4′ tall.   It has fragrant, tubular, clustered pink-purple to white florets that flower over a long July to September.  Butterflies love the flowers.
